| PCs - a bit of useful information |
Broadband
Braodband fever is hitting the UK. This faster means of connecting to the web has impacted the way the Internet works in a major
way. You can now watch real time video clips over the Internet and listen to the radio, as heard on the other side of the world, without
having to stop what you were surfing for in the first place.

Home Networking
Many homes are now finding that one PC does not fulfill their needs and are investing their hard-earned into second or even third
PC's. Along with the advent of on-line console gaming (PS2, Xbox and soon the GameCube) connecting all these
machines together to share an Internet connection, printer os just to play games over is becoming more of a need.

Our PC's - a little bit about our multiplying PC's
We seem to have a problem at the moment with PC's. They're breeding and making more of themselves! We started off with
just 2, well actually 3. Then we got a fourth and then my Dad got a new one, so we got his old one back and..... Well you'll
have to see really, click the link....

Adverts in MSN messenger
If you're sick of seeing ads in MSN messenger there is another way! You can edit your hosts file. This is the
file that windows looks at first when it's trying to connect to other websites (ie. the ad server MSN messenger uses!).
If you go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc you will see a file called "hosts". In this file is where you add the line:
127.0.0.1 config.messenger.msn.com
This line tells MSN messenger to look on your own machine for the adserver (it's not going to find it). The address 127.0.0.1 is the IP address that
every computer uses as a reference to itself. It's know as a "loop back address".
It's a good idea to Right-Click -> Properties and mark this file as Read Only too!
