Our PC's |
|
At this moment in time (1st March 2004) we have seven PC's. Now that sounds a lot I know, but most of them, well some of them, are not much good.
I suffer from "mightcomeinuseful" syndrome. You see you never can tell when something may come in useful. | |
|
Our newest PC is an Athlon 2800+ with 512Mb RAM. The PC is a home built jobbie (as most of mine are) and assembled by me.

The availability of silly fans that no-one really needs is increasing. As such, I have decided
to put one of these silly fans in the new PC, I may progress to more silliness, only time will tell.
The image on the left shows the silly fan, in it's lit and unlit and lit state. If you're interested it's a
Coolermaster fan, to go with the case.

CPU Cooler fan, shown right, as made by Coolermater, again. This is a Copper heatsink made from a single
piece of copper. The fins are made from the same peice as the base. The technique used to do this is called "skiving".
Basically, just using a big knife to cut bits off the to form the fins. This means that the thermal conductions is
better than if it had bonded fins.

When I built my first PC from scratch, I bought a "state-of-the-art" Ati graphics card with 32Mb of RAM.
The card I bought for this machine has 256Mb of on baord RAM and interfaces via and 8x AGP bus. It's quite beasty!
